Job Title: Extended School Services (ESS) Coordinator

Job Overview:
The ESS Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the Extended School Services program at Burgin Independent School. This program provides students with targeted academic support outside of regular school hours to enhance learning, address deficiencies, and increase overall academic performance.
Primary Responsibilities:

Program Planning and Implementation:

Design ESS programs that provide academic intervention, homework help, test preparation, and credit recovery opportunities for students in need.

Develop schedules for before- and/or after-school sessions based on student needs and staff availability.

Ensure alignment of ESS services with students’ academic goals and curriculum standards.

Staffing and Supervision:

Recruit and schedule certified teachers or qualified staff to provide instruction during ESS hours.

Provide guidance and support to ESS staff, including instructional strategies and student engagement.

Student Identification and Participation:

Collaborate with classroom teachers and school counselors to identify students in need of additional support.

Maintain accurate attendance records and track student participation and academic progress.

Communication and Outreach:

Communicate program goals, schedules, and expectations to students, parents, and staff.

Encourage student participation and parent involvement through calls, emails, and flyers.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure the ESS program complies with all Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) regulations and guidelines.

Maintain documentation for ESS hours, student services, and staff payroll.

Complete and submit required reports to the district and KDE in a timely manner.

Budget and Resources:

Manage the ESS budget responsibly, including staff time, materials, and supplies.

Order and organize instructional materials and resources for ESS activities.
Qualifications:

Certified teacher or administrator in the state of Kentucky.

Experience in instructional planning, academic intervention, and program coordination preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Familiarity with KDE ESS guidelines and reporting systems is a plus.
