Job Title: Part-Time Assistant Principal (0.5 FTE)
Location: Burgin Independent School
Reports To: Principal
Position Summary: The Part-Time Assistant Principal at Burgin Independent School will support the school’s mission by providing leadership in the areas of teacher evaluation, student discipline, and other duties as assigned. This position is a .5 FTE role, requiring collaboration with staff, students, and the community to foster a positive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teacher Evaluation: - Conduct formal and informal classroom observations. - Evaluate teacher performance in accordance with district policies and state guidelines. - Provide constructive feedback and support professional growth through coaching and mentoring. - Assist in the development and implementation of professional learning plans.
2. Student Discipline: - Implement and enforce the school’s code of conduct and discipline policies. - Investigate and resolve student behavior incidents in a fair and timely manner. - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and counselors to address student behavioral concerns. - Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions and communicate outcomes as appropriate.
3. Other Duties as Assigned: - Support the principal in daily school operations. - Assist in the planning and execution of school events and programs. - Serve as a liaison between the school and external stakeholders. - Participate in data analysis and school improvement planning. - Perform other duties as assigned by the principal to support the school’s mission and vision.
Qualifications: - Valid Kentucky administrative certification. - Master’s degree in educational leadership, administration, or a related field. - Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience. - Strong knowledge of instructional best practices and student discipline procedures. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in a leadership role within a school setting. - Familiarity with Kentucky’s Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PGES). - Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and stakeholders.
Work Schedule: - Part-time (0.5 FTE) position; schedule to be determined in collaboration with the principal.
