Cafeteria School Dishwasher/Worker

Report to:  Angie Bragg, Director of Food Service

Hours:  9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Contract Time:  178 Days (172 school days, 4 holidays, and 2 opening/closing days)

Location:  Burgin Independent Schools

Job Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities may include:

• Washing trays, dishes, pots and pans
• Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, tables, chairs, and serving equipment. 
• Restocking supplies like trays, utensils, napkins, and condiments. 
• Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas.
• Prepping food for the next day 

Secondary/fill-in Responsibilities:

• Assisting with cooking, reheating, and portioning food items according to established guidelines. 
• Preparing sandwiches, salads, and other meal components. 
• Operating kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, and fryers. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff
• Physical ability to lift heavy items 
• Basic food handling and safety knowledge
